Carey Pool

"This is the first and last time my family will be visiting Carey Pool. The facilities were great and when we initially got there it wasn’t crowded but I soon found out why there were no children. The lifeguards there are horribly rude and yelled at my three children (7 years, 6 years, and 3 years old) for running. They were not flat out running, first of all, they were excited to be at the pool. I am even glad that no running is a rule because you shouldn’t run around a pool, but they were yelled at for the slightest increase in their step and were told they had a 30 minute time out. 30 minutes is a long time for a child, and kids are kids so let them be kids! The lifeguard had no courtesy towards my family instead barked his orders and should have told us as parents that next time he would have to give a time out and the length of time. I basically paid for my children to get yelled at. What a disappointment."

"I went with 2 other friends and they have a little basketball and a hoop and apparently you’re not aloud to just pass the basketball back and forth. They just have too many rules and getting yelled at every minute because what you’re doing is not aloud, is not worth coming here."

"Great place for the kids. Never to crowded. Excellent staff real life guards that are on every post. Life guard actually in the water at all times. Very clean water clean showers. Locker available no charge just bring your own lock. Plenty of lawn tables and chairs. The best pool in the area hands down my kids love it..."

"The pool itself is very nice and the place is clean throughout. But that’s about it.... With all the other pools on Fort Benning to take your kids to they need to make Carey Pool for adults only. They had to rudely yell at me and my kids at least 20 times over the most ridiculous things including yelling at my 11 year old daughter (instead of nicely asking her age) for going down the slide because she appeared to be older than 13 and yelling at her because she went down the slide too fast. Then of course I had my younger daughter take off her life vest because we’ve been practicing swimming with her and was again rudely screamed at because I was not within arms reach of her. I guess learning how to swim in the corner of the pool not bothering anyone is a big NO NO. I get it, they have their rules and that’s fine with me but there’s no need to YELL at me or my kids. We will be patronizing much friendlier establishments in the future."

"There is a lot of rules. Nobody over 13 is allowed on the slide! High diving board is closed. No flips, etc off the diving board. We didn't find the visit worth it at all .."
