The Performers Academy
The Performers Academy, located at 3674 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida, is a store dedicated to mentoring and helping youth as well as local organizations who aim to enrich the city through arts and culture. The academy hosts events like the Truth and Proof Youth Open Mic on the 3rd Saturday of each month in the Black Box and the 1st Saturday at James Weldon Johnson Park. The academy also offers the Just Like Me Cultural Arts and Educational Experience, a 3-week camp for teens aged 15 to 17, in partnership with Family Support Services. The academy operates under the credo of "Acceptance With No Exceptions," valuing diversity and offering a variety of culturally diverse artistic experiences and classes. The academy provides scholarships, free or reduced rates for studio space, and tailored programs for underserved populations. Donations are welcome to support their mission.
