Kit Land Nelson Park
Kit Land Nelson Park is a 5-acre facility located in Apopka, Florida, off Park Avenue between First Street and Orange Street. Originally known as "City Park," it was renamed in honor of Katherine "Kit" Land Nelson, Mayor John Land's sister, who was a dedicated supporter of parks and the foliage industry. Kit was also a proud member of the Apopka Woman's Club. One of the main attractions at Kit Land Nelson Park is the City splash pad, which features various water play elements with fun names like the Mega Soaker, Sneaky Soaker, Splash Blasters, Fun-Guy, Fun-Brella, and Spray Tunnel. The Mega Soaker, for example, drops 40 gallons of water at a time, while the Fun-Brella creates a curtain of water for visitors to enjoy.
