Kika Silva Pla Planetarium at Santa Fe College
The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium at Santa Fe College, located at 3000 Northwest 83 Street in Gainesville, Florida, is a popular tourist attraction in the area. Made possible by a generous donation from John Pla and his wife Amy Howard, the planetarium is dedicated to education and social justice in honor of Kika Silva Pla. With additional support from Congressman Cliff Stearns, this planetarium is the only one in North Central Florida. Since 2006, the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium has been enriching the learning environment for Santa Fe College students and the community. Using the latest technology, the planetarium offers immersive learning experiences for students from Santa Fe College and the University of Florida, as well as public and private school children, community groups, and the general public in North Central Florida.
