Memorial Park
Memorial Park, located at 1620 Riverside Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida, is a historic park and tourist attraction that pays tribute to the more than 1,700 men and women from Florida who died serving in World War I. Established on Christmas Day in 1924, the park originally honored 1,220 individuals, but thanks to the efforts of Dr. R.B. Rosenburg, the list was expanded in 2018. As Memorial Park approaches its 100th anniversary, visitors continue to come to this peaceful place to pay their respects to those who served and sacrificed in the Great War. Despite sustaining damage from Hurricane Idalia, the park remains a symbol of remembrance and honor.
