As the County Health Officer since August 2009, Dr. Bencie brings a wealth of experience and leadership to our team, managing a dedicated staff of 120 professionals and a $10 million budget. Our health department is at the forefront of various population health initiatives, including worksite wellness programs, school health services, and environmental monitoring. Dr. Bencie's extensive background includes serving as the Director of the Division of Emergency Medical Operations for the Florida Department of Health, where she managed a substantial budget and oversaw health and medical preparedness across the state.
