Jama Benn Jama
Jama Benn Jama is a Cuban-inspired BBQ restaurant located at 10000 Northwest 138th Street in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, United States. The institution has a unique story behind its name, as it was founded by two Cuban friends who arrived in Miami on a raft with only a pack of cookies, a gallon of water, and a pet pig named "Benni". After being rescued by the coast guard and given a Coca Cola, the hungry friends asked for "Jama" (food in Cuban slang). Years later, they lost their beloved pet pig "Benni", which led them to open a roadside BBQ stand in Hialeah Gardens in his honor. At Jama Benn Jama, guests can enjoy traditional Cuban dishes cooked on a grill with a zinc roof. The restaurant is open Monday to Wednesday from 8am to 8pm, and Thursday to Friday from 8am to 10pm. Come and dine with the two Cuban friends at Jama Benn Jama for a taste of authentic Cuban cuisine and a tribute to their beloved pet pig.
