"Today, my mom and I drove by Good Samaritan hospital. She told me how she remembers coming there with me when I was in the 6th grade after I jumped from a tree unto a crowded trampoline and fractured my knee. I am 34 years old now and I still remember that day vividly! Well, after being seen at a local hospital physician, I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon. My mom said it was a woman but she said she was very prejudice and condescending, so she looked around for other surgeons and then found Dr. Baynham. Well, for some reason, this is the doctor that I’ve never forgotten. He fixed my leg, but also gave my parents a tough decision to make. Either he repair my fracture on my right leg, and let nature run its course (but he warned I could be faced with a limp), or he go in and surgically fracture my left knee so that both of them will be the same length (but this meant that I will be possibly 4-5” inches shorter than what I would naturally be). Well, my parents chose the latter. Therapy was grueling but I got through it. I am reminded of my past every day when I look at the scars in my knees but I honestly owe Dr. Baynham MY LIFE because just like he said, I have NO limp and I live a very normal, disability free life (although a bit short at 5’2 inches lol but that’s okay). I can’t imagine living life with a big limp. So I am writing this post mainly to Dr. Baynham just to say thank you for your excellence and experience. You gave me a shot at a normal life and I am eternally grateful for you. I was think of you and I was very happy to look you up today and see that you are still going strong! I’m actually a medical assistant and I love working with and alongside doctors, helping patients everyday. Thank you thank you thank you!"
