Citrus Research and Education Center
The Citrus Research and Education Center, located at 700 Experiment Station Road in Lake Alfred, Florida, is a local government office dedicated to researching and addressing the challenges facing the Florida citrus industry. Commonly known as citrus greening, Huanglongbing (HLB) is a serious threat that the center focuses on. With the largest and most diverse research program in the world, the UF/IFAS (University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences) at CREC offers graduate level courses both in person and through distance learning technology. The center also hosts global food and beverage industry representatives who come to Orlando to learn about the latest flavor research.
