The Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute, located at 18645 High Springs Main Street in High Springs, Florida, is dedicated to monitoring and protecting the water quality, quantity, and ecosystems of Florida's springs, rivers, and drinking water sources. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Institute focuses on sound science and education to preserve these natural resources. The Institute conducts assessments of the ecological health and recreation opportunities of springs such as Rainbow River and the Suwannee River. Led by Executive Director Emily Taylor, PhD, the Institute works to understand and disseminate knowledge about Florida's artesian springs.
