"I was just going to 'examine' the woodcarving I'd worked on earlier in the day and, without thinking, picked up a few knives and started carving, forgetting to put on my gloves. After a slip of the knife that went through my index finger, I headed straight to the closest stand-alone ER. They did a great job! Got me in immediately (as I was bleeding profusely), gave me a tetanus shot and a few stitches and I was good to go. I was able to start carving again within 2 wks. Lesson learned!!! Don't mess with big Hospital ER. If you live between Seabreeze Rec Center and Hwy 44, go to HCA Florida ER on 466A next to the Burger King at Trailwinds: 6131 Seven Mile Dr Wildwood, FL 34785."

"Took my wife in for a gastro issue, she had abdominal pain and vomiting. They ran a CT scan, blood work, and urinalysis. They found nothing and gave pantoprazol. I had even mentioned what we thought it may be, h.pylori bacteria which a later endoscopy confirmed. A simple breath test would have sufficed, this bacteria is very common with one 3rd of people estimated to have it. The rep on the video tablet said I had a 20% co-insurance, that was wrong. Almost $4000 for a 35-min visit with no diagnosis. If you're not on Medicare and don't qualify for subsidies in this country you are screwed. They said I was lucky it was in-network or it would have cost $24.000, absolutely insane! Now my wife is pregnant and our deductible starts over. If I would have had an idea of the cost we would have waited to see a gastrologist. Nobody gave me an estimate. 2 stars because we didn't have to wait."

"Not impressed at all. My husband was brought in by ambulance I followed shortly thereafter. I was waited in the waiting room for two hours to see my husband. He is diagnosed with major neurocognitive disorder but no matter how many times I asked they would not let me back. Absolutely unprofessional. I never met with the doctor only had the discharge paperwork by the time I went back. The only thing they wanted is his insurance information because it didn’t go through as he didn’t have the paperwork because it was with me."

"This isn’t my first time here..I was more disappointed than anything at how I was treated by staff. I came in because I had an active bleed in my mouth that a nurse from my dental office told me to go to the ER for per her recommendation because they didn’t have someone in office who could treat it and make sure I didn’t have an infection. When I finally went back I was looked at like I had 5 heads because I explained what had been happening and explained I was advised to come in because of the severity. All I was given was antibiotics and sent out. I never spoke to the doctor myself and was not listened to when I expressed the pain. I was sent out with antibiotics and told to see a dentist…cried walking out and even as I sit in the parking lot to write this. Just do better..sometimes people don’t want to come in as much as the staff doesn’t think they should be. But we are scared and just looking for help. Do better."

"Had the pleasure of coming here when I was in pain due to GI issues. I was irritable due to the pain. The staff was understanding and very nice. A big shout out to Debbie. She was patient with me and had me laughing before I was discharged. Would definitely recommend this facility. UPDATE 12/7 I just read some more of these reviews and feel I should add more. This is an ER, not a clinic or PCP. Those complaining about follow-up need to understand the function of an ER."
