The Florida Center for Community Design and Research, located at HMS 113 USF Maple Drive in Tampa, Florida, is an integral part of the University of South Florida's School of Architecture & Community Design. With a focus on creating more livable and sustainable communities, the FCCDR offers design expertise, technical assistance, applied research, and community engagement services to address urban challenges in Florida. Since its founding in 1986, the center has worked on over 150 projects with more than 100 communities across the state. The FCCDR's mission is to assist Florida citizens in developing innovative solutions for urban issues. Through programs such as Design Technology, Urbanization and Resiliency, Urban Design and Community Health, and Community Engagement, the center collaborates with local governments, non-profit organizations, and development professionals to propose sustainable solutions for growth and development while preserving quality of life.
