The Louis and Gloria Flanzer Boys & Girls Club is located at 18 School Avenue in Arcadia, Florida, United States. This institution, established in 2018, serves 75 children and is the sixth Club location in the area. With support from the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust, the Club is currently undergoing renovations to transform the Smith-Brown Recreation Center into a multi-purpose gymnasium for youth. This new facility will provide designated space for physical activities, project-based learning, and enrichment programs to support the personal development of young individuals. An additional 10,000 square feet will be added to the facility to accommodate more youth development programs, with an anticipated completion date of 2023. The Boys & Girls Club is designated as a 21st Century Community Learning Center by the Florida Department of Education, serving students from Memorial Elementary School, Nocatee Elementary School, West Elementary School, and DeSoto Middle School. The institution aims to provide greater opportunities for youth in Arcadia and is operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.
