"This was absolutely one of the worst schools I have ever gone to. Terrible 4 years, mold in the buildings, horrible discipline and office staff. Not to mention they messed up my college transfer and I was differed from every university I applied to. If I could give it 0 stars I would. SEND YOUR KID TO BRADEN RIVER!!!"

"This school is amazing at sports especially at Basketball...Not football really...this year it sucked everyone sucked at football...Overall this school is pretty chill for the most part teachers are the bomb. Kids show up to class HIGH everyday"

"The teachers give students alot of freedom and treat students pretty good. The downside is alot of the students are either rude wanna be tough guy rednecks or sassy spoiled rich kids who act like they can do whatever they want because their mommy and daddy have money. Its an ok school but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. It also smells bad like rotten trash outside."

"I am almost done with my third year at LRHS and I can honestly say that there is no better school you can attend in Manatee County. The best part about this school is by far the teachers. I have honestly been so lucky to have the pleasure of being taught by some of the most genuine people I've ever met. There are teachers at LRHS who would do anything for their students and want nothing more than to see them succeed. I am happy to have had their influence on my education and life. I have been involved in the Mustangs Ahead journalism program since my freshman year and have learned so much about the ever-changing field from Mr. Honsa. His class has been a wonderful experience and I am happy to end my high school career with him and the Mustangs Ahead staff. I definitely recommend Honsa's US History class too! LRHS also offers a ridiculous amount of classes. Though I will say that I have run out of required credit classes to take at Lakewood Ranch and am pretty much filling up my schedule with extra electives :/ Thankfully there are a lot of appealing electives to take. I do think an addition of more higher level science classes for incoming freshmen who have already completed Biology is going to be needed soon. The school is large. Very large. I personally enjoy it that way but it can be difficult to find the attention you need from the guidance office. Even when you do get to the guidance office, I find that it is difficult to get clear and helpful advice. You do have to learn to go the distance to find things out for yourself. I have learned that the best people to talk to are teachers and other students (upperclassmen are a godsend for this). There is a lot of freedom given to the students. I appreciate that, for the most part, the administration treats us like adults and isn't overbearing. Overall, I think you get from this school what you put in. Joining a couple extracurriculars, putting in the effort in class, and finding the teachers that you connect with is a great way to make the most out of LRHS. I'm so happy to have had such a great experience here. And at least I can say we're better than Braden River."

Its staff, students, location, and atmosphere are superb, unique, and make for a great learning experience. LRHS has been a very successful school with its academics and extracurricular activities. This school performs and ranks in the top 100 high schools in all of Florida. The test scores, numerous academic & athletic awards, and its extracurricular club achievements backup the fact that LRHS is the best high school around without a doubt."
