“That was very quick a unplanned visit at Taz Coffee House, but what a joy! We went in just to try Kunafa,but we ended trying a lot more and everything was delicious and beautifully served: Fattat Betenjan, flatbread with minced lamb and cheese, karak milky tea, traditional coffee and handful of cakes. Highly recommended, I'm not surprised at all of 5 star ratings for this restaurant. We'll definitely come back!”

“Had a lovely first visit here today with my husband and we found it to be a very calming, relaxed and friendly place. Service was excellent and I had a mozzarella, pesto and tomato toasted muffin with a latte and my husband had a latte too and we could not fault either. I overheard that they have been opened for 4 years now and each year they have had a break in or their front entrance door smashed !! I feel saddened to hear this. We had a lovely visit today and will be back very soon. Thank you”

And most importantly the veggie breakfast I had was probably the best I've enjoyed in a long time, offering real veggie and vegan substitutes, not greasy and well presented, cooked and portioned. “Fantastic studio! Went here to have both nipples pierced. They were really friendly and put me at ease. The whole process was clearly explained, and I was given good aftercare advice. The piercing was quick. The whole studio was scrupulously clean, and the piercer was very careful about making sure everything was hygienic. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Will definitely go back. And they sell coffee too!”

“Looking at other google reviews we decided to take a visit to Coffee on the Corner. You'd never know it was the old Natwest bank..this place is fab. Nice atmosphere, comfy chairs and very smiley staff. Great service from the moment we walked through the door, the Victoria sponge and carrot cake are scrumptious. They don't skimp on portion size here.. Great cappuccino and latte too if you love a proper coffee. Can't wait to go back and try something else off the menu. 10/10...see you on our next visit.”

“Great venue, in town, near parking, buses and a short walk to the railway station. There's a bar and good acoustics in the theatre. We have been a few times, the latest being Feast of Fiddles, brilliant, now with Stratford local Marian Fleetwood, what an amazing voice, and all brilliant musicians.”

“An excellent place just to get a really good cup of coffee, cake or a meal. First class quality of food and the staff are brilliant. I take my dog there regularly as it is so good to have somewhere which will take dogs. I was very perturbed to read a review by a Mr Harrington which severely criticised the hygiene at Swan Yard. Apparently, he was most put out because a guest had let their dog sit on the bench and "slurp" out of its bowl on the table. The standards of hygiene at this cafe are extremely high; I cannot see the need to slag off the establishment because of the behaviour of a guest. Maybe if he had pointed out the problem to the management at the time, they could have done something about it. Instead, he chose to leave a very negative review after the fact. He doesn't see why dogs should even be in there due to "hygiene" and "people with allergies to dogs". I would have thought that people with "allergies to dogs" would have the common sense not to go into a cafe or any other establishment that allows dogs, but maybe I expect some people to have more common sense than they actually have. Perhaps he should go to one of the other establishments in Knowle that doesn't allow dogs, then he won't have a problem. Well done Swan Yard, you are an asset to Knowle.”

So I'm not a huge coffee drinker so I've only sampled Nero, Costa, and Starbucks (my favourite being Nero followed by Costa when it comes to mochas...both decaf and caffeinated). I was pleasantly surprised by Coffee#1’s decaf and caf mocha and lattes. Really delicious. I'm looking forward to spending some time drinking decaf mochas in the shop as I like the ambience there (big, airy yet warm in the winter).”
