Stop & Shop

"Today I did my normal run to stop & shop to get my groceries and I'm always pleased with their products and pricing. But today was different, I was in line checking out and the woman in front of me was so incredibly rude to the young man checking her out that I almost had to say something. This kid handled the situation better than any grown adult would. He was extremely professional and completely held his composure. I talked to him after his encounter with the woman and was impressed to find out he was only 16 years old and doing everything he could to juggle sports, school and a job. His name I believe was William. Stop & shop should be extremely proud to have an employee such as him. If it was up to me I'd say give this kid a raise! It's well deserved!"

"Some of your employees of the Pharmacy are ridiculous! Please explain on how you have 3 of them they are not busy and they have my medication on hand and it takes over an hour to fill one prescription? Also at this same one a couple of months ago was short more than half of my 90 day BP meds? According to your female pharmacist, according to the computer they had enough but the actual Inventory was short by 100 pills?"

"I saw the weekly flier with a sale on turkeys and was very excited. I never find fresh whole turkeys that don’t come brined in a salt solution! But I drive 30 minutes to your store and when I find the turkeys, they don’t match the flier or the poster that’s right above them. I asked the person that was putting the turkeys out and they said that they didn’t have the turkeys that they were advertising. Bad business!"

"I had two parties in one week. I ordered a sheet cake for one and 48 cupcakes for the other. Both orders were OUTSTANDING! The service was great! The cakes were delicious and beautiful! Highly recommend!"

"This Stop & Shop in New Milford CT is average, usually good. The store is usually clean with friendly staff. The floral dept is great, the flowers and and plants always look nice, and fresh. Moving on to the perishable depts; the produce dept is standard, fresh fruits and veggies with a wide variety. I’ve bought grapes and berries here and they’re usually fresh and last a week in the fridge. The prepared foods here are great. I’ve gotten multiple sandwiches, salads, items from wing bar, and chicken over the years and everything is usually fresh and tasty. The selection of prepared foods is smaller than other Stop & Shops, so they might not have exactly what you’re looking for if you want a specific item. The deli looks clean with a decent variety of deli meats and cheeses. Seafood dept is usually well stocked and the fish looks fresh. Meat dept is standard, prepackaged like all Stop & Shops. At this location, the meat typically looks fresh, and is usually well stocked with a decent variety. The bakery dept is great, like at most locations. Well stocked with a wide variety of baked goods. I’ve bought numerous different items from the bakery dept over the years and they’ve all been fresh, and delicious. Dairy dept has a wide variety of items, center store and frozen depts carry a wide selection. This store has a pharmacy, and a gas station. The staff are usually friendly and helpful. The store manager Tom great, very friendly and helpful, I hope he stays in this store for awhile. The store is usually clean, but it’s showing it’s age. Entrances, floors, shelves are usually clean. Bottle room is decently clean. The bathroom is usually clean, but it’s older and in need of an update. My only two issues are; check expiration dates like at all stores. I often find expired items in the dairy section, so definitely check dates there. Also, the shelves in the dairy section are dirty, especially on the bottom of the cases, those shelves need to be cleaned and wiped down, or replaced. Overall, this is a good, average Stop & Shop. It’s not perfect, it has had some issues at times, and could use a remodel, but it’s overall a good store."
