Since 1998, the center has been working closely with families, schools, and community providers to create individualized plans to address the educational, social, and transitional needs of each student. At Farmington Valley Diagnostic Center, students are given a fresh start and the opportunity to discover their strengths while developing the necessary skills to succeed in their schools, families, and communities. The center offers a short-term placement (40 school days) with regular team meetings involving family members and school officials to determine the next steps for each student's transition back to their home school.
