The trail features a variety of landscapes including woodlands, ponds, streams, waterfalls, caves, and mountain peaks. It offers breathtaking views of the Waterbury Reservoirs and passes through the White Memorial Conservation Center, a 4,000-acre wildlife sanctuary. In Warren, the trail enters the Wyantenock State Forest and continues through the Shepaug Reservoir land and Warren Land Trust open space property.
