"I got to know this law firm via an attorney i used in the past. I had custody issues and called her to pick up the case and she informed me she joined Divorce Matters. Why on my case she left Divorce matters, and they convinced me to stick with them as they will give me an attorney who will continue working on my case. Fast Forward i got an attorney who never took his time to go through my case, had no time to read the permanent order and was always fighting me every time i try to tell him what was going on. On top of this Divorce matters will bill me every month and when i go through the itemized bill they will double charge me and sometimes charge me for work they didn't do (pls check your bills every time you get them) i had to call the accountant to rectify it every single time. This went on for months and finally the hearing date was set for May 16. Two days prior to the hearing the attorney called me and said he is withdrawing from my case because he got information from the opposing counsel that i lied. After i explained the story to him he apologized and continued working on the case and on the day of the hearing, this dude appeared in court looking all confused and didn't present any of my exhibits, however i was charged 2,000 USD by them for compiling exhibits. Long story short, he could not defend me because he was and has never been prepared. He let the other attorney paint me as a woman depriving the father from his child. Meanwhile the father has been gone for 6months didn't see the child since the permanent orders came was issued. Bottom line is, please stay away from Divorce matters. They have made a name for themselves and do not care about their clients anymore. I had a meeting with the boss of the attorney who was representing me, and she was very nonchalant about the whole thing. I ended up paying approximately $9,000 or more for no work done. Divorce and custody battle is stressful and to have an attorney who doesn't even have your best interest makes it worse. Divorce Matters might have other good attorneys but if you can avoid this law firm completely and you will not regret it."
