World Class Athlete Program WCAP
β OpenThe World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) at 1450 Magrath Avenue in Fort Carson, Colorado is a gym and health institution that allows top-ranked Soldier-athletes to perform at the international level while serving their nation in the military. WCAP Soldiers train and compete year-round with the goal of participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Soldiers from the Active, Reserve, and National Guard components are selected for their exceptional sports abilities and receive training from elite civilian and military coaches at top facilities. In addition to their athletic pursuits, WCAP Soldiers engage in outreach activities, such as holding clinics and speaking to audiences to support Army recruiting efforts. WCAP also enhances the Army's national visibility and reinforces public pride in the Armed Forces, with Soldiers serving as positive role models and motivating their fellow Soldiers. Since 1948, WCAP Soldiers have represented the United States at the Olympics, earning numerous medals in various sports. The program continues to uphold this proud tradition and contribute to the Army's readiness and resilience.
