James E Harrison Park, located at 544 South Simms Street in Lakewood, Colorado, is a peaceful retreat owned by the Glennon Heights Homeowner's Association and leased to the city. This neighborhood park offers a variety of activities, including pickleball and tennis courts for sports enthusiasts. The open field is perfect for flying kites or enjoying a picnic with family and friends. In honor of former Tuskegee Airman James E. Harrison, the park was renamed on June 10, 2019 to commemorate his dedication to the Lakewood community. Harrison played a key role in the city's incorporation, led the homeowner's association, and established a neighborhood watch program before his passing in 2010. A new park sign and memorial plaque were installed in his honor, with a dedication ceremony held on August 26.
