Boettcher Concert Hall at Denver Performing Arts Complex is a unique and innovative symphony hall located at 1000 14th Street in Denver, Colorado. Built in 1978 and renovated in 1993, it is the nation's first symphony hall in the round, designed to bring the audience close to the stage with 80% of the seats within 65 feet of the performers. The European-inspired design of Boettcher Concert Hall features permanent choral seating adjacent to the orchestra platform, creating a traditional symphonic sound quality while engaging the audience. The walls of the hall are canted at a slight angle to disperse sound and prevent flutter echoes, with wave-like acoustical facias diffusing, reflecting, and channeling sound throughout the venue.
