H&R Block

"Terrible experience! This year I decided to use their file online option because I just had a baby and couldn't make it in person. I followed the prompts on the website and was connected with my previous Tax Pro who messaged me some follow up questions after I uploaded my documents. I responded to his questions and then proceeded to get radio silence from him and the office for the next 6 weeks. I sent 2 follow up messages through the online portal for an update to see if he needed anything else and got no reply. I also called the office 4 different times, 2 of which I got a person who told me a manager would call me back (never happened), 2 other times I left a voicemail which was never returned. I even tried stopping by the office in person during normal business hours (during tax week!) and it was locked! I ended up having to call their customer support number, got put on hold through their automated system 4 times and spoke with 4 different people over the course of an hour and a half until someone finally scheduled me a call with another pro at a different location. Well, that pro never called me back either. It wasn't until I called that office to ask about my appointment that someone else finally assisted me to complete my taxes. After expressing my frustrating experience to this Tax Pro, I was eventually offered $100 off their fee. I am sad to say this was the last year I will be using H&R Block for my taxes."

"Been trying to get personal physical tax documents and no one is there. Took time off work since the sign says that a person would be available and no one is. I stayed for 30 mins incase they were at lunch and called main h&r phone. I have been told that they are unable to mail my own documents to my address. Worst thing is that we are moving out of state and will be unable to to cone to this location. I will not use H&R again or recommend then to any one."

"This was a terrible experience for us this year. We have been using H&R Block for a number of years now, and typically it has been good, but this time it was just the opposite. Our preparer was extremely poor with communicating with us, and we had to complain to get things completed. I doubt that we will be using your company's services again. Update: Could it get worse? yes. We just received a notice from the IRS that we were eligible for an extra multi-thousand dollar refund. Isn't this why we hire a supposedly professional company, i.e., to do our taxes correctly?"

"This is one of the most disorganized offices I have been in, and there's a complete lack of communication between clients and those who work here. They refused to get back in touch with me after I dropped off my tax documents and refused to return my calls. Ultimately, they failed to get my taxes done on time despite the fact that dropped everything off almost two months in advance, so I was forced to use another service at the last minute. I definitely do not recommend this place. It's sad that the office on Table Mesa closed. They were much, much better."

"I value having the peace of mind that my taxes are being done correctly by a professional, rather than fumbling through the details on my own. I move around a lot, and things tend to get complicated because of it, so I'm glad I was able to work through those hurdles with people I can trust. I liked that this particular H&R Block office was very thorough in explaining the pricing so it was easier to understand. I also appreciate them walking me through the process and answering all of my questions to better understand my tax return, even down to getting out the calculators to find exactly where changes differed from last year's return! Overall, it was a very positive experience and I am super thankful they could see me last-minute on a Sunday to work with my schedule."
