De Petteflet is a school located at 14350 West 32nd Avenue, Golden, Colorado, United States. It is a small piece of the Netherlands in the heart of Colorado. Interested children are invited to attend a trial lesson to see if the classes meet the expectations of the child and parents/guardians. We are currently looking for development-oriented teachers who have a teaching qualification in primary education (Dutch) or experience working with children. Lessons are held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm from mid-August to the end of May. Our mission is to help Dutch-speaking children improve their language skills. In addition to weekly language lessons, we also organize cultural and themed days every year. The school was founded in 2005 as a Dutch foundation. Since August 1, 2010, we have been incorporated in Colorado and our English name is Dutch School De Petteflet, although we prefer to refer to the school as De Petteflet. The name De Petteflet is derived from the successful children's book "Pluk van de Petteflet" written by Annie M.G. Schmidt.
