“Though it is an expensive service, and there were lengthy delays due to a nationwide technical blip, I cannot fault the friendly nature and helpfulness of the staff. They were lovely and the waiting room was comfortable.”

“A great place to work - fantastic location - very close to the town centre. The kitchen areas are always clean and tidy and the toilets are immaculate. Staff, on reception are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Louis, in particular, has helped us with office relocation, is always polite and courteous, and does a fantastic job of building management.”

“Stayed here a couple of times in January and have had a thoroughly enjoyable stay! Breakfast is a good choice of colds and cooked, room was spacious and nice views from the lift up. Dinner in the restaurant was also good! And Anthony, the gentleman serving us was helpful and went above and beyond! Live musician playing on a Thursday around 5pm/7pm. Pool and gym too! And parking right by the entrance in a barrier car park. Will stay here again next time I’m in Cardiff for sure.”

“What a joy to visit a Government department that gets it so right. I was served by Leanne who was helpful, professional and a great problem solver. I wanted to change my name after a divorce to my maiden name, on my renewal of my passport. I needed my old marriage certificate which is taken away on a decree absolute, so didn't have it. It felt like an impossible situation as I was told I needed the original. I had all the other documentation! Now, Leanne could have been difficult and insisted on a rescheduled appointment so as I could attempt to order another marriage certificate (what a task that would be!?). I was using the fast track service so as my passport would be accepted on entry to Spain, after the new EU rule change. I had 7 months left until expiry. The old rules stated that you must have at least 6 months on return from a trip which I would have qualified under this criteria. The new rules only allow you travel, taking into consideration the terms of the ISSUE date and not VALID from date. This would mean my passport would have been seen as expired to them, but valid to us, so it was important that I renewed. Leanne helped me. I filled out a legal deed document to tick the box on the change of name, that was countersigned by two witnesses. Fortunately, I had all other documents to prove I am using my maiden name. The renewal component was covered, anyway. I couldn't have done this without her help. I am truly grateful to her. Thank you, Leanne! On a practical issue, there are parking spaces adjacent, near Asda, in a residential area. No car parking at the office.”

“We had two nights in the Ibis budget hotel in Cardiff and it was brilliant. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. I'm disabled and use a wheelchair and the room and wet room were excellent. Tea and coffee available as you wanted it. The hotel in my opinion couldn't be falted”

“Stayed here two nights it was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a night club directly opposite so lots of noise but this didn't bother me at all I liked knowing there were people around”

“We had a 11.00 appointment at the VFS Office in Cardiff and were not seen until 13:15 due to a number of issues including IT system breakdown, many applicants coming to the centre ill prepared with their documentation. To be honest, the online proposal to complete the various forms are so brittle and cumbersome that its nothing more than expected than to see people turn up at the office who are either sent home as the application is completely in disorder or they have made half an attempt and are allowed to complete their application whilst at the counter when submitting their forms. No matter the issue, the queues and the constant frustrations. I have to admit I saw Naomi who is one of the staff who was at the counter dealing with customer applications - display excellent customer service skills. She was never once flustered by the constant niggles of applicants with ill prepared documentation and questions. She remained courteous to each and every customer giving them her full attention. In those three hours I never saw her go off and take a break, she dealt with the backlog with a smile on her face and is a shining example that there are key workers in an organisation who provide an indication that your application will be dealt with the care and attention that it merits amongst the chaos that resumes around you. This young woman is a star and deserves all the praise she gets and I just hope that she is recognised and valued by the big boys upstairs in her organisation as we certainly did. We were so glad to be served by Naomi after a long frustrating day at the office waiting room. She put a smile back on our face as we headed back home for the long drive back to London. Well done, Naomi. You absolute Star !”
