“I can't speak more highly about my experience at Straight Line. Based on the reviews on here, myself and a friend decided drive 3 hours and head to Straight Line to get some Ski Boots fitted (first time). We were a bit silly and didn't book an appointment but were beyond lucky there was a cancellation and spent the next few hours with Phil. Phil was kinda the all-knower of ski boots and ski things. After the intro and initial sizing for myself, Phil asked if I found it easier to turn one way than the other. Which I do! I thought i was just not getting the technique right, but he explained one of my feet pronate more than the other - so its never really sitting flat (making it more of an effort to move it into position/flat). I went with a friend who's a well experienced skier and had no intention of buying new boots - and this moment was the catalyst for him to volunteer to ALSO get some new fitted boots (in the end a whole 15mm shorter than his current). All in all, the experience was great. I never once felt silly for not really knowing anything and felt safe asking all the questions I liked. Phil was incredibly knowledgeable and had this neat trick of not leading you to agree to something - but letting you describe it and then explaining why you weren't crazy and how he could help fix it - Amazing. We originally travelled to Canberra from the Central West because we thought those closer to the slopes would know better than Sydney-siders, and we definitely made the right decision. We now have 2 new pairs of carefully fitted boots, and 2 heat moulded foot beds to correct our stance and improve how effective our boots are in our skis. Book an appointment and get yourself some new (or first pair) of boots!”
