"Sorry for the long review, but, I have bought and sold many cars and unfortunately this was one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with. Went in looking at some Civics as my 4runner was not great for my work commute. First two cars I went to test drive were duds. The first one had an e-brake issue and could not leave the lot, and the second wouldn't even start. This should have been a sign but the sales people seemed friendly enough, things happen. I was in a bit of a time crunch so after finally test driving a car that worked I decided to look at my options. Knowing I owed more on my trade than it could possibly fetch I was hesitant but gave it a go anyway and wanted to see what this dealership could do. After some back and forth the salesman came to me with a monthly price of $500+. I told him there was no way and I wanted my payment closer to $400, have a nice day. But what do you know?! He comes back with a price of about $408! If you can do that the first time, almost $100 less, why don't you do that? I was starting to feel pressed for time as I had to pick up my daughter and after the GM came and sat down with me and said "we will pay off your trade", I felt I could not turn down a $440/mo lease deal (person that came with me heard him say it, too). Little did I know this was not true. All they did was use my down payment to pay it off, which was not what I was told, so of course, it drove my payment up. Let alone sitting in the finance managers office, somehow the payment out the door wound up being $470/mo. Nobody can seem to explain it to me over there. On top, I was given a thumb drive and 3 sheets of a six page lease contract which NONE of contain the trade amount. I did not know until I got home trying to make sense of it all and after a phone call with the GM that they did not in fact "take care" of my trade in. Had I known they were going to make me cover the couple thousand I would have just walked out, no hard feelings. Instead it looks like shady business and word salad to get a deal done. I would not recommend buying from this dealer. I have spoken to other Honda dealerships about my situation and they have also said it sounded like the GM was not clear about his intentions. It's a shame this is what buying a car has come to. Say what you have to to get that customers money. I will also note that when I went back to talk to the finance manager he showed me a breakdown where the trade in value is listed. I was "not allowed" to take that paper with me, which is weird since NONE of the paperwork I have on the thumb drive or papers has that value. Seems like they were trying to hide it on purpose. This will be the last Honda I buy and I should have walked out that day. GM told me to "read the fine print"... well, I can't do that if you don't supply me with all the proper paperwork that was part of the deal. You supplied me with only the pages I signed, and the trade value was on another sheet I didn't have to sign... for some reason. How can I read something you didn't give me?? Shady practices for sure. LB Honda, this was a shady deal and you should do better. What happened to the "helpful Honda guy"? Not at LB Honda. Also to note, the car is the worst car for road noise I have ever experienced and gas mileage on the freeway has been sub 30 mpg where Honda states it should be 30 city/40 highway. Not a chance. Would have been better off with a Corolla as a commuter. Never let a dealership rush you through a deal, that part was on me for sure, but you hope you can trust the dealership to do right by you as it is their job. I will say, this is not the place for that. I would avoid at all costs."
"Had an amazing experience here at Long Beach Honda as always. Shawn helped me get a superb deal on my oil and transmission fluid change. Most notably, my AC wasn't working and he informed me that it is covered under extended warranty, and got that taken care of all for free. I had to replace the evaporator in my AC too, which was not covered, but Shawn helped me out and got me an amazing deal to replace it as well. I'm very happy with the service I received and I'm looking forward to bringing my car next time to Long Beach Honda! Shoutout to Shawn especially!"
"Got my work fixed, straight forward. I go here often. Then on pick up made me wait an hour because, after my pick up request, Brian left to go eat breakfast for 30min, but did not tell anyone that I was there waiting. I had to find the boss/supervisor, who also vanished for 15min, before I finally received my vehicle. This whole process delayed me by over an hour, almost an hour and a half. Although the repair and check-in were fine, I was not treated properly on my check out. Very polite overall, but poor check out time. Extremely frustrating."
"Edit: I reached out to the general manager David and he did not address the issue with his sales manager. Instead he ignored it all and give me a backhanded deal on the vehicle making it clear they don’t actually care about their customers but are only worried about selling cars. I wouldn't bother with this dealership at all. I put in a request for a car weeks ago. I went into the dealership one afternoon after work and I stood around for probably 10 minutes with no help, not one person asked if I needed help. A week later I called again to get pricing on a civic type R and they told me they couldn’t tell me unless I went in person. Even though I have been there in person and Received no help. Eventually they tell me a manager will get back to me to discuss pricing, another week goes by and they don’t call but text me to come in. I refuse to come in unless I get a price before hand and they still refuse. Today I get a manager named Erick call offering me a Civic Type R at “MSRP” + accessories worth $5000 with an out the door price of $55238 and even after telling him we are very far apart and other dealers like Honda of DTLA are doing way better pricing he start to yell at me “Why didn’t you buy it then” it was very rude and unprofessional. If he dares to yell at a customer and get frustrated over facts I’m stating I wonder how he deals with his employees. Quite frankly I’d probably stay away from them. He claims other dealers are lying to me about their quotes yet he won’t give me a quote himself."
