Emerald Bay Lodge

"This was the most disgusting and worst hotel, if you can even call it that, I've ever stayed in. Staff was rude. Rooms were dirty and not well kept. The heater didn't work and let me tell you, it was 28 degrees or colder out. The staff went through our trash, gross, and lied about things that we did not do in the room. We picked up trash, a cigarette, because it would destroy the environment, and then we were accused of smoking in the room. Last time I do something nice for an ungrateful property owner. Do not stay at this place. You will be disappointed."

"I'm going to give this a 5 star because I believe you get what you pay for. This was the most inexpensive room in Lake Tahoe on a holiday weekend. Was it luxurious? No. Very basic room but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Walk across the parking lot for food options. It was a 10 minute drive to get to the casinos so a bit out of the way. The heater is a radiator type that kept the room warm. The person that sleeps closest to the radiator will be very warm. We had the unique experience of a winter rain/snow storm. The pinecones falling from the trees, hitting our roof and rolling off sounded like soft balls all night long. The parking lot is mostly dirt so it was muddy getting out. Other than getting bombed with pinecones, it was pretty quiet. Every thing in the room was in working order. Wifi is available. I liked the Adirondack chairs on our front porch area. Would I stay here again? I think I would because I'm a sucker for a great value. I love saving on sleeping accommodations so I can spend on other things. Pro tip: bring a cooler as there is no refrigerator."

"Rooms are not ready for anyone to stay. Our room smelled, the bed sheets had dirt, the towels were stained, and the walls had holes in them. This place needs a lot of remodeling."

"The Emerald Bay Lodge is a cute little motel in a great location for exploring either the east or west side of the lake. The rooms are nice, but the walls are paper thin, the bathroom is excruciatingly small, and the beds are harder than the floor. It's currently undergoing an ownership transfer so I expect things will improve, and the customer service was great! The innkeeper is very attentive and accommodating. Would stay again, but definitely bring a compact mattress pad if you like things cushy."

"We loved our rooms !! They only provide two towels but are very accommodating in getting more. To check in it was like a hey get your key but that was fine for us!! We loved the kitchen aspect there was some pots and pans but we also brought what we wanted!! There was NO homelessness traffic …. The pool isn’t filled but California is in a drought so I completely understand… but would have been nice… we never had trouble communicating with staff.. our stay was great in all!! Please stay here and don’t follow the review of people who want a 20 star stay. If you want to cook your own meals and have a nice stay come here!!!"
