Mangels House

Built by Claus Mangels, brother-in-law of the renowned sugar magnate Claus Spreckels, Mangels House is the last remaining example of three nearly identical mansions constructed between 1872 and 1888. The mansion was crafted from clear heart redwood sourced from the nearby Loma Prieta Mill, featuring a unique "Carpenter's Gothic" architectural style.
