The park also includes a landscaped amphitheater, fire ring, and a quarter-mile-long nature trail that takes visitors through various ecosystems such as an oak grove, dry creek, and fern dell. Originally established in 1971 as a modest four-acre park, Monte Verde Park has grown to become a popular destination for over 10,000 visitors each year. The park offers a range of outdoor experiences, camping opportunities, and recreational programs for the community to enjoy. With the support of state park funds, the S. Mark Taper Foundation, and grant funds from the L.A. County 1996 Park Bond Act, Monte Verde Park underwent a major renovation in 2001 to improve facilities and accessibility.
