The Light of Dance Academy, also known as the Kathak Academy, has two locations in Northern California - Folsom and Mather. Our aim is to provide structured Kathak training in a systematic way to enhance students' experience and promote the ancient Indian art of classical dance, Kathak. The Jaipur Gharana is known for its Layakari, ladi, chala, toughest presentation of Tatkaar (foot-work), Chakars (spins), precision, and traditional body movements. The Lucknow Gharana is loved for its smooth, graceful movements, precision, and delicacy.
