Del Monte Cafe is a family-owned and operated institution located at 1901 Santa Barbara Avenue in San Luis Obispo, California. The history of Del Monte Cafe dates back to the early 1900s when the Robbins Family opened a neighborhood grocery store in San Luis Obispo. After decades of operation, the store was eventually boarded up and condemned until Debbie and Mark Collins had a vision to turn it into a neighborhood cafe in 1980. The dream became a reality on February 2nd, 1981, when Del Monte Cafe opened its doors to the public.
