Hampton Inn Carlsbad-North San Diego County

"Stayed here a couple of nights while we were in town for a family wedding. Clint was managing the front desk our two nights there, and he was exceptional. One evening we brought some takeout back to the hotel to eat at the lobby tables/chairs. Clint helped us grab some plates and napkins from the breakfast area, and made some fresh cookies and brought them out to our family. Just one example of the little extra touches that we experienced during our stay. The rooms (and the entire hotel) were very clean and the breakfast quality was great. We stay at Hamptons quite a bit, and this might be our best experience at a Hampton yet."

"Overall, the hotel was fine. Nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly. Room was clean. I was mainly disappointed with some features of the room. There was no fan in the bathroom. Anytime you shower, it turns the whole bathroom and room into a sauna. Also, anytime you do your business in there, the whole room gets to hear it and smell it, too. Also, you have very limited control over the thermostat. They set a limit on how cold you can set the temperature. I did notice the AC only runs while you are in the room. Anytime we would leave and come back, the room was nice and hot for us even though the temperature was set to much lower. You also cannot control the circulating fan. I am the type of person that needs a nice cool room with circulating air while I sleep, and I was not able to have either. I have a hard time sleeping without white noise, so not being able to have the AC fan run while I was sleeping was very unfortunate. Having the fan circulating would also probably have helped drown out the noise we had to endure of the couple in the room next to us having some "adult fun." The pillows on the bed were also exceptionally flat. I had to sleep with three pillows stacked on top of each other in order to have a normal sized pillow. The internet was pathetically slow, as well. I wanted to download a movie on my tablet for the flight home, but the internet couldn't even handle it. I ended up having to waste my phone's data to download the movie. I tested the speed, and it was pulling in at 3 mbps. For those of you who don't know internet speeds, that is about as slow as you can get. It's barely enough to send an email, let alone do anything else, like download something. I think for the price, I expected much more."

"Very very happy with our stay. We stayed 3 nights with 2 small children to go to Legoland. Location was great, beds were clean and acceptably comfortable, management was very polite and most of all the breakfast buffet was delicious everyday! The breakfast kitchen staff were so nice too, my kids loved the omelette so much they made extra for them even when they weren't serving them one day. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you're in the area, especially for Legoland. You'll save a lot of money and it's a nice play to stay."

"Probably one of the best Hampton Inn’s we’ve stayed at. Breakfast had soo many options - waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bagels, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, toast, muffins, etc. Quiet location. Front desk even let us check in early which helped us out so much with a wedding to go to. Would definitely stay again! The carpets felt a little sticky/dirty which is why I gave the room 4 stars. Pool and hot tub available, but we didn’t have time to take advantage of it."

"Great stay at the Hampton Inn while in the area for a business meeting. The staff member at the front desk was incredible; he was warm, welcoming, and going above and beyond expected service! He even offered to bring a meal service delivery up to my room while I was on an evening business call so that my food wouldn't get cold. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name. Room was spacious, clean and neat, although a bit tricky to figure out how to work the blinds (small button near the top automatically raises/lowers the blinds). Love that I could pick a room on the app, used advice from other reviews to get one away from street and parking lot. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great my stay here was."
