Point Sur State Historic Park
Point Sur State Historic Park is a must-visit tourist attraction located in Monterey, California. In addition to the lighthouse, the park also features the former Point Sur Naval Facility, which was part of a network of defensive listening stations tracking Soviet submarines during the Cold War. Today, the Naval Facility is one of the few remaining Sound Surveillance System (SOSUS) facilities open to public interpretation on the West Coast.
