Participants in the program complete a Community Project or join a Board of Directors as part of their commitment to giving back. With a focus on personal executive skill development and building connections throughout Mendocino County, Leadership Mendocino provides a unique opportunity for individuals to make a meaningful impact in their community. Through monthly class days, participants are exposed to a variety of leaders and programs in areas such as local governance, education, health, agriculture, business, and cultural history. The program, often referred to as a "Masters Class in Mendocino County," boasts a prestigious alumni network of over 800 members who have made positive impacts in the county and beyond. Applications for Leadership Mendocino are accepted year-round, with interviews taking place in June and the program beginning in August. The class meets once a month for eight months, culminating in a mandatory retreat at the end of September. Participants are encouraged to complete a community project or join a board of directors following their class year.
