"The Benbow is a magical historic Inn tucked into the redwoods at the beginning of the Avenue of the Redwoods. The staff is attentive and gracious. The food is wonderful. The head chef that was there several years ago is back, so the food is amazing."
"Stayed for a night on a quick weekend away. The views of the river and bridge were nice. Enjoyed reading by the fire while having tea and scones. The dinner was nice and we had some good cocktails while watching football at the bar."
"Such a delightful, stately hotel! If you haven't visited here, consider joining those who have stayed in this historic place! Great food, warm fireplaces, a full service bar and fine dining restaurant as well as excellent service and riverside walks are but a few of the many pluses available including afternoon tea. Rooms are appointed in period decor with some nice upgrades. The old world charm and elegance is worth visiting Benbow Inn as a destination!"
"This is our favorite birthday getaway place. The king fireplace suite is superb. The restaurant is impressive. We especially enjoy dining to live music on summer nights. 5 stars!"
"Amazing, romantic location with historic rooms. The upper lobby is a great place to relax, have a drink, play cards, do a puzzle or read by the fire. Relaxing with a cup of coffee on the porch in the early morning was a favorite. Complimentary Scones and tea in the afternoon were warm and delicious. There are hiking trails thru the redwoods nearby but also just walking along the river or the trail that passes the Julia Morgan house is great. The food has always been good but the new chef, Cecil, has really made it spectacular."
