Big Pines Mountain House of Tahoe

"Don't bother staying here. I should have read the review before booking a last minute stay on a busy snow weekend. Figured I had stayed here before (8ish year ago) and it would be fine. The room was horrible- we ended up leaving at 10pm after gambling and just driving back home to Sac. The bathroom ceiling has water damage and looked moldy, the flooring was sticky and not clean and it looked like the baseboards and walls had never been wiped down. The whole room reeked of bleach, which instead of screaming "this room is clean", just made us wonder what had been so bad they needed to bleach that much? (Ceiling mold maybe??) The sheets has obvious stains and the walls were paper thin. Front desk rep was nice enough and the location is right in the midst of the action- only good things about this place."

"Excellent service. Amazing friendly staff, clean, in downtown area. Close to almost everything. No parking fee. Good lobby. Wifi works very good. Prices are very affordable. I was there about 2 weeks ago, and will go there again. I definitely recommend this motel. 5 stars !!!!!"

"I asked for a quiet room upon arrival. They put us in 251 upstairs almost above the office. It was quiet. It’s a double queen room. The heater, shower pressure and cleanliness were all fine. Yes this hotel is dated and not the best in the area, but if you can look past that you’ll be happy to save some $$$. Good luck on your adventure to Big Pines Mountain House!"

"This room smelled like dirty feet or sweaty gym socks when the heater was on. With it off, it was bad but tolerable. We switched rooms because of it and the other room was the same. We had 3 rooms in total and all the rooms smelled the same. The water pressure in the second room bathroom sink was a dribble. Barely any pressure. Toilet seat was too small for the toilet and toilet was low to the ground. My kids and wife both experience bites of some sort and not sure what they were. It wasn’t bed bugs but something bite them. The location and price of the hotel was great and that is why I gave it an overall 2 star review. If you are looking for a place that is conveniently located to stateline and heavenly; this is a good place."

"Worst place I’ve ever stayed at. They charge extra for a “kitchenette” and when we get in the room the stove top and the oven don’t work. They had to interrupt our stay 3 times to come and “take a look” at it and never even got it working. One outlet works in the whole room and the room just felt like it needed a major upgrade. If you want to enjoy your stay; and sleep comfortably with functioning appliances, please don’t stay here."
