Welcome to Pantoll Campground Parking, your gateway to the majestic Mount Tamalpais State Park, conveniently located at 6456 Panoramic Highway, Mill Valley, California. Just north of San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge, our campground offers a serene retreat amidst Marin County's breathtaking landscapes.

Nestled within the lush redwood forests, oak woodlands, and open grasslands, Pantoll Campground is an ideal spot for hikers, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape. Enjoy stunning vistas of the Farallon Islands, Marin hills, San Francisco Bay, and beyond. On clear days, you might even catch a glimpse of the distant Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Our campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis, providing rustic camping experiences at both Pantoll and Bootjack Campgrounds. For those looking for group camping or unique lodging, reservations can be made through Reserve California at nearby Alice Eastwood Group Camp, Steep Ravine Cabins, and Environmental Campground.

While visiting, explore the rich history of Mount Tamalpais at the East Peak Visitor Center and the Gravity Car Barn. Enjoy outdoor theater performances and astronomy programs at the Mountain Theater, just a few miles below the summit.

Please note, drones and mushroom collecting are prohibited, and all natural and cultural resources are protected. Dogs are welcome in designated areas, but must be leashed at all times. Bicycles and horses are allowed on specific trails and fire roads. Due to ongoing trail work, certain areas may be closed; we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Parking fees apply at Pantoll, East Peak, and Bootjack parking areas. Credit cards are accepted during business hours at Pantoll, while cash or check self-registration is available at other locations.

"Hiked here in early February. Took the bus up from Stinson Beach. (It left the stop a bit early- fyi.) The rangers at this station were helpful and recommended a few awesome trails for us from this point! We did a short loop on the Old Mine Trail and TCC Trail (1.8 mi.) and then hiked down the Steep Ravine Trail and Dipsea Trail (3.32 mi.) down to Stinson Beach."

"Nice little campground. Well laid out. It's clean and classic. There are trails to go around and a convience store down the road. Plenty of stars for star glazers. The bathrooms were clean. The pantry was a nice touch and each camp site is suitable for 6+ persons."

"Pantoll Station is like a trail hub with trails on all directions. There's a ranger station, so you can pay parking fee to the ranger or use the app, $8 per vehicle. Restroom is available with flush toilet and very clean."

"bring cash. This is a larger parking lot than Bootjack up the road, but also more popular. we arrived after lunch and took about 5mins to get a parking space. clean bathrooms and facilities. access to secluded campgrounds and lots of trails that gets you to the Muir woods monument"

"Nice parking lot. We came there on President's day (Monday) at 9am, and there was plenty of room. The fee situation is a bit of a hassle. It's $8, and it's self-registration (no rangers). Prepare cash and take a pen. We took the Matt Davis trail to Stinson beach and came back on Dipsea trail to Steep Ravine. It was quite nice. Lots of small waterfalls on the way, and a pretty forest."
