Our facility, which was relocated to its current site in 1962 and beautifully remodeled in 1978 and recently in 2022, serves an area spanning 5.99 square miles. At the heart of our library's vibrant community support is the Friends of the Hawthorne and Wiseburn Libraries, a dedicated volunteer-run organization established in 1979. This group plays a crucial role in supporting library events and services, enhancing the educational and cultural experiences available to our patrons.

Wiseburn Library's history is deeply rooted in community advocacy, dating back to 1952 when the Wiseburn Coordinating Council successfully secured mobile library services. Today, the Wiseburn School District owns the building, leasing it to the County of Los Angeles Public Library, ensuring continued access to invaluable resources.
