Rosie the Riveter Park
Welcome to Rosie the Riveter Park, a cherished historical landmark and tourist attraction located at 3599 Clark Avenue, Long Beach, California. Spanning 3.4 acres, this park is a tribute to the remarkable women who answered the call to support the U.S. war effort during World War II. As men were called to military service, women stepped up to fill crucial roles in defense plants and shipyards, epitomized by the iconic figure "Rosie the Riveter" and her empowering slogan, "We Can Do It." Long Beach played a significant role in the war, housing the Navy and bustling naval shipyards. Thousands of women were employed at the local Douglas Aircraft Plant, working tirelessly to produce military aircraft. In recognition of their invaluable contributions, this park was renamed Rosie the Riveter Park on March 24th, 2007. Formerly known as Douglas Park, this serene space was originally created from surplus land from the development of Skylinks Golf Course in 1959.
