Los Angeles Volleyball Academy/SMBC - Ventura County (VC) is a premier volleyball institution located at 161 Plaza La Vista in Camarillo, California. This gym and health facility is home to the successful LAVA Islands Volleyball Club, which has been serving the Ventura County girls volleyball community for many years. The program offers exceptional travel team and non-travel programs to meet the needs of players in the Camarillo and greater Ventura County area. Led by Director Kim Machnic, a long-time fixture in Ventura County volleyball coaching, the club boasts a talented coaching staff with deep ties to the local volleyball community. LAVA Islands fields eight to ten teams annually across various age divisions and also offers youth and juniors non-travel training programs. In addition to club travel teams, the institution offers programs such as the Youth Lite Program for 3rd-5th grade girls and the Juniors Program for 6th-8th graders. Club tryouts for girls club volleyball are held in July and October, providing opportunities for players to showcase their skills and join the LAVA Islands family.
