The park features a bandshell/stage, community center, playground, mobile skate park, picnic areas with barbecue pits, restrooms, volleyball court, play equipment, sports fields, fitness loops, and a dog park. Originally part of Rancho Los Alamitos, the park was donated in 1903 and renamed Jotham Bixby Park in 1907. Over the years, the park has undergone various improvements and additions, including the construction of a speakers platform in 1928 and the opening of a recreation building in 1965.
