Rod Sanford's Trdtnl Karate is a health institution located at 4626 Soquel Drive in Soquel, California, United States. Sensei Rod Sanford founded our school in 1980 and has been teaching traditional Okinawan Karate in Santa Cruz county since 1967. His son, Sensei Sean Sanford, is now the head instructor and general manager. At our school, we primarily practice Shorinji-Ryu Karate, with elements of Aiki-Jujutsu and traditional weaponry. We offer classes for ages 4 and up, with classes split by age and rank. Character development is a key focus of our teachings, with weekly mat chats covering topics such as respect, self-discipline, honesty, bullying, and stranger awareness.
