Dr. Edwin Alexander Alvarez, MD is a renowned gynecologic oncologist located at 1825 4th Street in San Francisco, California. As a part of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Alvarez specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of various cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancer. He is known for his expertise in performing traditional, complicated, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries. Dr. Alvarez also serves as the director of clinical trials for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at UCSF. He is actively involved with NRG Oncology, a cooperative research group for cancer clinical trials sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. Prior to joining UCSF, Dr. Alvarez led chemotherapy services for gynecologic cancers at the University of California, Davis.
