Gifted student support in Pinole, California

Big Minds Unschool is a unique educational institution located at 1937 San Pablo Avenue in Pinole, California. Our school is specifically designed for Twice-Exceptional (2e) students, who are gifted and also have one or more disabilities. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1, we offer project-based and strengths-led learning in 1:1 or small group settings. Our focus is on socio-emotional development to support cognitive and creative growth. At Big Minds, we believe in disability justice and strive to empower our students to navigate the world as socially literate individuals who can advocate for themselves. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of 2e learners, addressing their strengths and accommodating their challenges. We understand the unique struggles faced by 2e students, such as socializing difficulties, perfectionism, and executive functioning issues.
