Bunasawa-Kai Judo & Jukkendo is a renowned institution located at 254 Victoria Street in Costa Mesa, California. Founded in 1972 by Nori Bunasawa, a 9th-dan judo master and the founder of Jukkendo, our organization offers a friendly environment open to all age groups at the Higashi Honganji Temple. Sensei Bunasawa, a former all Japan weight limit judo champion and U.S. world team coach, brings over 45 years of teaching experience to our institution. As a Kodokan judo 9th-dan, he is the youngest grandmaster in California and has trained under esteemed masters such as Yoshimi Osawa, Masahiko Kimura, and Kenji Tomiki. With a focus on technique and efficiency, Sensei Bunasawa ensures that our members develop their skills correctly.
