"This carniceria is endangering our health. I have been a patron for some time now and have gradually noticed their quality control and health guidelines become on the deficient side. I have observed flies grazing on meats inside their displays. I understand these mishaps may occur here and there. I observed and notified the butcher at least on two occasions. He removed the fly but didn't even attempt to remove the piece(s) the fly was sitting on. I discarded these as isolated incidents even as possible oversights. However, my last experience can not be discarded as isolated. It is a gross disregard of health violation....We ordered a full pack of hot links. Noticed it was the only package on display, and it was slit open. They stated they sometimes open the packages to sell 1 or 2. Didn't think anything of it until we unwrapped the package and noticed the expiration date clearly stamped as September 2023. Making these hotlinks 4 MONTHS EXPIRED!!! Upon returning them, the cashier was rude and argumentative. She was in complete denial of the expiration date clearly stamped on the package. An apology and a refund would have been the right thing for the store to do. Stores like this one forget that word of mouth can make a difference. People don't forget how you addressed (disrespected) them and make them feel. Overall, this makes me rethink my patronage to this establishment. If they are adamant about fighting you on controlled packaged meats with an actual manufacture stamped expiration date. I can't even imagine the condition of the other meats in display, especially when seasoned with spices that could potentially hide the freshness of meats. Folks, be careful when buying from this establishment. As for my family and I.....they have lost a customer that would purchase hundreds of dollars of barbecue meats on a monthly basis."
