Doppio Zero San Francisco

"I've eaten here twice; if I lived in the city, it would be more. Exquisite food. The lasagna pasta and marinara are so fresh! Spinach/mushroom ravioli is totally worth the clogged arteries it'll give you. Everyone has a pear salad, but the dressing here is special. Distinguished wine list, albeit pricey. Service was excellent both times, but last night's visit deserves a shout out. We explained we were running late for a show, and despite the Friday night rush, they had lasagna in front of us within 10 minutes. Amazing. Made our show with ease. Decor is attractive, but when crowded, the place gets so noisy you have to shout at your fellow diners. Not a place for a first date, unless it's an uncrowded time like Saturday afternoon."

"My fiance and I had a very disappointing experience here. The staff was really great, and the cocktails were pretty good. Our main issue was with the food. We ordered several dishes, and everything was very mediocre to bad. I was excited to try their award-winning pizza. We were so disappointed when we received our Margherita: It literally only had one piece of basil in the middle. For a pizza that only has three ingredients, it's so upsetting when one of the ingredients is lacking. I also ordered the Cacio e Pepe which was extremely overcooked. It tasted like soggy mac and cheese. It was completely inedible. This place has a lot of potential, but they really need to work on refining their food. We spent well over $100 on our meal, and was disappointed to find out that the best part of it was my cocktail."

"Very high quality Italian pizzas. Love that thin crust where the Margarita sauce and crust just melds together. Cocktails are also well made. Service at the bar was great. Watched the pizzas bake and they’re made so quickly. One thing though, didn’t enjoy the second pizza we had which was the crazy pizza special as much, but it was still really well made and was great with their chili oil. Will come back to try their 4-6pm HH."

"Doppio is such a great happy hour atmosphere. Well priced, and even without a reservation they will do their best to fit you in to a table. The drinks are well made and I am a fan of the mezcal, the tequila variety is a bit lacking but the mezcal makes up for it. The pizza is a bit Smokey but still light and not too heavy. The meatballs were the table’s favorite but the fries were a close second."

"This place deserves more love than it gets! Walked in on a Friday night and was able to get a table by the bar, near the kitchen - which could’ve been terrible with all the movement of people, but I was already happy to have a seat. The experience ended up being great, staff was very friendly, good value for the money wine options, food being served super fast. Salad as a starter had a fantastic dressing and was very fresh. I noticed the pizzas were not my style (i like it very cheesy) so i went for the pasta and zero regrets. It was loud and busy in a good way - good energy if that’s what you’re looking for in a fun night out."
