The church was built on land generously donated by John and Kate Miller Keys and was dedicated by Archbishop Joseph Alemany, the first Archbishop of San Francisco. Despite the challenges of the 1906 earthquake, the parish community continues to gather in the original redwood frame building, embracing its Carpenter’s Gothic architecture.
