Theater Of Lights
β OpenThe Theater of Lights, located at 1002 2nd Street in Sacramento, California, is a unique and family-friendly institution that presents a free performance of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" in a Sacramento-inspired way on the rooftops of the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Produced by Downtown Sacramento Partnership, the shows run Thursday through Sunday starting Thanksgiving Eve. Created by Stage Nine Exhibitions' Troy Carlson, the Theater of Lights showcases California's top talents in light and sound production, including 4Wall Productions, Musson Theatrical, Associated Sound, and Emmy-nominated voice actor Bill Farmer. The immersive performance retells Moore's classic poem alongside stories of Sacramento's pioneers in the 1850s, with sounds of fires, floods, and parties surrounding the audience. The highlight of the 20-minute show is a live dramatization on the balconies above K Street, featuring a special appearance by Jack Frost and the lighting of a 60-foot Christmas tree by St. Nick himself. Parking is available in nearby garages, and public transportation options are also convenient. Don't miss this magical holiday event, made possible by the generous support of our sponsors.
